Channel Islands Children’s Book Awards

A joint initiative between Guernsey’s Guille-Allès Library and the Jersey Public Library, the Award – supported by Ravenscroft – celebrates excellence in children’s writing and was created to help children develop a love of reading for pleasure. For 2020, all Channel Island children in Years 5, 6 and 7 were invited to nominate their favourite book published in 2019, with a panel of librarian judges whittling the nominations down into a final shortlist.

The four shortlisted books for 2020 are: Storm Hound by Claire Fayers; Check Mates by Stewart Foster; Malamander by Thomas Taylor; and The Day I Was Erased by Lisa Thompson.

Children can vote for their favourite book on the Award website, www.cichildrensbookaward.org
